How to use evercare® Silicone Wound Contact Dressing

In these recommendations you will find guidance on how to use evercare® Silicone Wound Contact Dressing.
1

Step 1

Cleanse the wound according to clinical practice. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.

2

Step 2 - Pouch opening

Select an appropriate size silicone wound contact dressing that covers the wound and additionally the surrounding skin by at least 2 cm.
If needed, the dressing can be cut. For larger wounds, more overlap is required.
3

Step 3

Remove one release film and apply the exposed adhesive side over the wound.

Gently press the applied dressing part onto the site, while holding the dressing by another half (still covered with release film). Do not stretch.

4

Step 4

Remove the remaining release film and smooth the dressing in place on the surrounding skin to get a good attachment.

If more than one piece of evercare® Silicone Wound Contact Dressing is required, overlap the dressing, making sure that the holes perforated on the dressing are not blocked.

5

Secondary dressing

A variety of suitable secondary dressings may be used, depending on wound condition and body part. The illustrated example is Silicone Foam Dressing. Use the same aseptic application method as above: Remove the first release film to position over the Wound Contact Dressing, then remove the second film to fully secure it over the site.
