A new directive to promote human rights and environmental protection in global supply chains.
As a leading provider of medical devices and equipment, Evercare Medial has announced support for the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), a proposed legislation by the European Commission that aims to ensure that companies operating in the EU respect human rights and environmental standards in their global supply chains.
The CSDDD would require companies to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for the potential and actual adverse impacts of their business activities on people and the planet, and to provide access to remedy for victims of such impacts. The directive would also create a level playing field for responsible businesses and foster sustainable development and innovation.
Evercare Medical with its Responsible Sourcing Program, has implemented due diligence practices based on the OECD Guidance and the UNGPs. By supporting the CSDDD, Evercare Medical reaffirms its dedication to continuous improvement and transparency in sustainability, and to engage with its stakeholders and partners to promote the respect for human rights and environmental protection in the medical sector and beyond.
